Winter sports legend
Winter sports legend
When snowflakes fall, even the saintly gentlemen tie skis under their bare soles. So did St. Francis.
And no slope was too steep, no hill too high, no wood too dense, no obstacle too cunning – – – he ran and jumped and braked so masterfully that he never bent his halo.
Thus he glided through wintry woods. It was quiet all around and – – actually he never met a human being or a deer. Only a stray ski track once told that she had seen him standing in a clearing where even he was preaching to a group of ski bunnies. They sat around him in the deep snow, red, green, yellow, blue – – and pricked up their ears in devotion, as he so of immaculate dry courses in the monastery „to the good binding“, of the only saintly stem bends, Umsprung drains and lukewarm Telemarkeln. And how the ski bunnies shuddered when he thundered against certain undogmatic teaching methods!
