„The secure foothold
Once a climber climbed up a notoriously fragile ridge – – – and truly! he was a bold fellow: for even from pinnacles with nippers (who only longed for the redeeming belch to be able to start the journey to the cemetery deep down in the cirque) he called out to those climbing behind him:
„Keep coming! Have safe footing!“
And once he even held on to a barely visible handhold with only two fingertips of his left hand, but already he quickly rolled up the rope with his right and shouted:
„Safe stand!“
– – – then his grip sighed and broke: headlong he flew out of the mother wall and with him our climber, while a sharp stone smirking bit through the rope – – – – and only after a good five hundred meters he slapped like a ripe plum on a wide scree terrace. But dying, he still shouted to his companions:
„Descendants! Safe standing!“ What an optimist!!!“
